Tomb of the Egyptian Queen (Hetepheres)

When was the Queen's tomb found

The tomb was found by American archaeologist "George Reisner" in 1925. It is a well in the ground that ends at a depth of 27 meters in a chamber that contains the contents of the tomb and includes both: furniture, utensils and jewelry belonging to the Queen and others. All the things made of organic matter had spoiled, leaving only small bits covered in dust. The American archaeologist was able to recreate the furniture in a painstaking and arduous work, and her tomb is considered the best that was found from the era of the Old Kingdom in Egypt

It is a pity that the cemetery had not escaped theft. The alabaster coffin of the mummy was found empty, but the canopic jars were still sealed and the entrails were inside.
