An Egyptian mummy with a tongue of gold was discovered in Alexandria, Egypt

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said that a number of mummies discovered in these mummy excavations are in a poor state of preservation, which shows the characteristics of mummification in the Greek and Roman eras in ancient Egypt

It was surprising in this discovery that one of those mummies kept a golden tongue

And specialized archaeologists say that the ancient rulers of ancient Egypt believed that jewelry enabled the deceased person to speak and speak in the afterlife, which the ancient Egyptians believed in the inevitability of its existence and always sought success in reaching it

These scholars add that the ancient Egyptians also believed that gold helped them talk to Osiris, the god of resurrection and arithmetic in ancient Egypt

The team of researchers speculated that the ancient Egyptians removed the tongue of the deceased person during the mummification process and replaced it with a piece of gold in preparation for the afterlife and going to it

These tombs date back about 2000 years, and were common in ancient Greek and Roman times, and were dug in mountains or within a natural rock formation

The Director General of Antiquities of Alexandria, Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Hamd, said that the archaeological mission found during this season a number of archaeological finds, the most important of which was a funeral mask for an Egyptian woman, and also (8 gold foils) representing golden wreath leaves, (and 8 marble masks) dating back to time The Greek and Roman eras, and these masks show high accuracy in carving and depicting the features of their owners, and this indicates the ingenuity of the ancient sculptor in ancient Egypt

Although the condition of the mummies has deteriorated with the passage of time, the stone funerary masks are still intact, allowing the team to see what the person was like before death
