Daily life in ancient Egypt
Cleanliness and beauty
The ancient Egyptians were keen on personal hygiene. Both men and women washed their bodies carefully before eating, using large vessels and gutters to pour water. They also removed excess hair from their limbs with bronze razors with convex edges. They also knew the tweezers and scraper to rub and soften the leather. As for the hair, they took special care: after washing it, it was massaged with oils and styled into thin coils or strands. The use of synthetic hair and hair extensions has also spread, as there are indications that women have used artificial braids to show their hair in a more intense appearance since the first family

Fishing and music
Recreation in ancient Egypt was possible depending on the economic situation, weather conditions and available opportunities. With the interest of the ancient Egyptians in raising birds and animals, many scenes of daily life tell us that the greatest joys were river picnics in search of waterfowl, hunting and hunting trips in the desert, and fishing in canals and lakes
The ancient Egyptians also had a great interest in music, and a love for rhythm. Flute players and singers always accompanied the hunters and farmers while they were doing their work. We have a scene of peasants singing the harvest song, led by a peasant holding a scythe and clapping, and another playing the flute. There are also many scenes showing a line of women clapping in unison during important occasions
Ptahhotep lived in the late twenty-fifth century BC and early twenty-fourth century BC, and was a minister during the reign of the pharaoh, the grandfather of Ka-Ra, the founder of the Fifth Dynasty. He is credited with his book “The Teachings of Ptahhotep”, which is a collection of rulings and advice on human relations, directed by Ptahhotep to his son
